The GIFLUID project – Green Infrastructures to Mitigate Flood Risks in Urban and Sub-Urban Areas and to Improve the Quality of Rainwater Discharges was financed under the Interreg V-A Italy-Malta 2014-2020 Program.

The final meeting of the project, recently held in the main hall of the Di3A Bioscientific Center, was attended by institutional representatives and various project partners: University of Catania, The Energy & Water Agency, Municipality of Aci Castello, Rabat Local Council, and the Sicilian Region.

Professor Giuseppe Cirelli, full professor of Agricultural Hydraulics and Hydraulico-Forest Arrangements at the University of Catania and scientific director of the GIFLUID project, opened the proceedings on November 17. He focused on the completed works: green infrastructures for mitigating hydraulic risks in urban and suburban areas and improving the quality of rainwater discharges.
